Office of Public Affairs

The Public Affairs Office of the Knox County School System is responsible for all aspects of internal and external information as well as system level community relations. The office supports one of the largest employers in the region with over 7,000 full and part-time employees.

Media relations and communications with the community are handled through the Public Affairs Office. This includes fielding media queries, developing school related stories for general release, and managing the school system's website.

The Public Affairs Office also coordinates the areas of community relations, business partnerships, and the School Coupons Book Campaign, the system-wide fundraiser for the school system.

The staff is also the point of entry for community organizations that wish to work with the school district on programs across the system and is available for assisting with the planning and coordination of special functions and for training in public affairs.
