Sequoyah Elementary recognizes business partners, presents watercolor

March 1, 2006

Sequoyah Watercolors

Elizabeth Staten, Sequoyah Hills Elementary PTA representative, presents business partner Raleigh Bacon a print of Sequoyah Hills Elementary School. The watercolor print was by local artist B. J. Clark

Sequoyah Elementary School held a luncheon on March 1 to recognize the efforts of their Partners in Education. One of the school's partners, Green Hills Grille, hosted the event that included several PTA members, as well as two Sequoyah Elementay staff members.

Each of the school's partners received a framed watercolor print of Sequoyah Elementary by local artist B. J. Clark. The prints were adorned with a plaque distinguishing the business as a Partner In Education at the school. This is part of an ongoing effort by Sequoyah Elementary School to recognize the generous support of their partners while also letting their partners' customers know about the connection with the school.

Prior to the presentation of the prints, Sequoyah Elementary principal Martha Hill made remarks to thank the community members for their commitment to public education. Each partner then shared some of the ways they lend support to the school throughout the year. Seven of the school's fourteen Partners In Education were in attendance and spoke about their experience at Sequoyah.

Special thanks go to Angie Tierney, Elizabeth Staten, and Angela Estes for their efforts as PTA representatives on the Sequoyah Partners In Education Committee. The Sequoyah Elementary PTA is a model program for the role of parent involvement in Partners In Education.

Experiences such as these are what make the Partner In Education the successful endeavor that it is!
