Knox County Schools Annual Partners in Education Luncheon

Community Representatives, Business leaders, and school leaders gathered at the Simpson Center Tuesday, April 22, for the annual Partners In Education luncheon.

Knox County Schools recognized its Partners in Education, 12 Senior Class presidents, and three recipients of the Becky Ramsey Award for outstanding service to education.

The Gibbs Elementary School student chorus, comprised of students in grades 2-5, presented a program for the entertainment of the honorees and guests.

Knox Realtors, Sams Club West donate $5,000 each

The Knoxville Association of Realtors and Sam's Club West each presented checks for $5,000 to the Partners In Education program at the celebration.

 

 

 

McIntyre

Superintendent designee Dr. James McIntyre greeted guests at the annual PIE luncheon. Here he takes a moment to speak with Ben Shires, senior class president at Bearden High School.

Ramsey Award Winners

Becky Ramsey Awards were presented to Mr. Roy Mullins, Interim Superintendent, Michelle Brewer, guidance counselor at Mount Olive Elementary, and Mike Shorter, Kroger.

   

Senior Class Presidents for 2007-08 were guests at the luncheon. Pictured are Nina Pham, Farragut, Howard Kelsey, Austin-East, Ben Shires, Bearden, Chelsey Simpson, Carter, Russ Gunter, Karns, and Matt Bartley, Powell.

Not Pictured: Meg Goddard, Central, Brittney Ramsey, Fulton, Spencer Porter, Gibbs, Lindsay Thigpen, South-Doyle, and Michael Stevens, West.

The Gibbs Elementary School Chorus provided the entertainment for the luncheon. Gibbs Singers

The theme of the program was "Soaring for excellence, all the time".
