Karns High schedules nationally acclaimed
student success presentation

Karns High School has scheduled the Making High School Count presentation program for its freshman class. The one-hour, presentation will be delivered to students and parents from 10:50 a.m. – 11:50 a.m. Friday.

Making High School Count is designed to help students understand the importance of high school and what they need to accomplish to maximize their opportunities upon graduation. The program also addresses transitional issues such as time management and study skills.

"Entry into high school and college are key transition periods in a student's academic career," said Patrick S. O'Brien, founder of the Making It Count Programs. "Our goal is to provide and reinforce the positive message counselors and teachers are giving to their students during these crucial times and help students understand that anyone can be successful if they choose to be,"

The Making High School Count presentation program was successfully presented to more than 800,000 students nationally in 2001. On average, guidance counselors rated the value of the ideas presented a 9.5 on a ten-point scale. This year, Making High School Count will be delivered to more than a million freshmen.
