It’s Coupon Time In Tennessee
It is time again for the annual school coupon book sale, which in just two weeks normally raises more than $1,000,000 for Knox County Schools.

The books cost only $10.00 and $7.50 goes to the school where the book is sold. $1.00 goes to a fund to be distributed among economically disadvantaged schools. $.20 goes into a computer technology and career awareness fund and, $.90 pays for the cost of printing the book. Only $.40 goes towards administrative costs and incentives.

Among the new merchants in this year’s book are Home Depot, Hound Dog’s, Louis’, Build a Bear, and Sullivan’s Fine Food. J.C. Penney, Proffitt’s, Aubrey’s, Calhoun’s, Chick-fil A and McDonald’s are among the fine sponsors returning to this year’s coupon book.

The kickoff for this year’s School Coupon Campaign will be held Thursday, September 19 at 9:30 a.m. at Sarah Moore Green Magnet Technology Academy located at 3001 Brooks Road. Media are encouraged to attend.
