  "It’s Coupon Time In Tennessee"

It is time again for the annual school coupon book sale, which in just two weeks normally raises more than $1,000,000 for Knox County Schools.

The books cost only $10.00 and $7.50 goes to the school where the book is sold. $1.00 goes to a fund to be distributed among economically disadvantaged schools. $.20 goes into a computer technology and career awareness fund and, $.90 pays for the cost of printing the book. Only $.40 goes towards administrative costs and incentives.

Among new merchants in this year’s book are Lowe’s Home Improvement Warehouse, Regas Brothers Café and Riverside Tavern, Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies, Staples, Don Pablo’s, Dale’s Winning Edge, Stein Mart, Tennessee Grill and Corky’s.

The kickoff for this year’s School Coupon Campaign will be held Thursday, September 20 at 9:30 a.m. at Pleasant Ridge Elementary School, 3013 Walnoaks Road. Media are encouraged to attend.
