Showcases

Take time while at the Simpson Center to look at the historical display of former Knox County schools including Riverdale, Perkins and Rule High School.  This display, part of the Knox County Museum of Educational History, is being developed by a committee headed by Sue Boyer.

 

Directions to the Center:
From Downtown via Henley Street:
  • From Henley Street Bridge, travel south on Chapman Highway.
  • Turn left onto Woodlawn Pike (traffic light at BP Station ).
  • Turn at the first left onto Ellis Street.
  • Ellis becomes Tipton Avenue as it turns right.
  • PDTC is on left just past Dogwood Elementary School.
From Interstate 40 East
  • Take Exit 388A to South 441/James White Parkway:
  • Bear left and go to South 71, stay left and go over the river on the South Knox Bridge
  • At the end of the highway, turn right at the stop sign onto Sevierville Pike
  • At the first traffic light, turn right onto Woodlawn Pike
  • Immediately turn right again onto Moody Avenue
  • Turn at the second left onto Tipton Avenue
  • PDTC is on the right just before Dogwood Elementary School
