Knox County Mathematics Course Sequences

Notes:

   1. Each Progression in these sequences represents a full unit of content growth.

   2. Students not ready for the course progression may move from Foundations IA
        to Foundations II/Algebra I - T.

   3. A student may receive a credit i only one of the following courses: Foundations I,
       Foundations IA, or Foundations II to satisfy the three required mathematics units
       for graduation.

    4. A student may receive a unit of credit in either Algebra I or Technical Algebra,
        but not both.

    5. Students who take Foundations IA in the ninth grade should have a TCAP CRT  scale
        score of 507-5373 and a score of 10-14 on the mathematics portion
        of the Explore Test.

    6. Students who take Algebra I in the ninth grade should have a TCAP CRT scale score
       of 538-578 and a score of 15 or above on the mathematics portion of the Explore Test.

    7. Students who take Accelerated Algebra I in the ninth grade should have a TCAP CRT
        scale score of 578 or above and a  score of 19-25 on the mathematics portion of the
        Explore Test. Students who make an A or B in accelerated Algebra I may move on to         Honors Geometry.
