Description:
A one or two-unit course for students in grades 10-11 designed to provide students the opportunity to acquire basic fundamental skills in safety, environmental issues, principles of hair design, nail structure, and cosmetic procedures. This first level course prepares students with work-related skills, leadership, and interpersonal development for advancement into the Design Principles of Cosmetology course.

Description:
A two or three-unit course for students in grades 11-12 designed to provide students with advanced knowledge and skills in hair design, nail artistry, and cosmetic applications. This course prepares students for work-related skills and advancement into the Chemistry of Cosmetology course. Upon completion and acquisition of 600 hours, students are eligible to take the Tennessee Board of Cosmetology manicuring examination for a Tennessee Manicure License.

Description:
Description:
A two or three-unit course for students in grade 12 to prepare students to perform services using chemicals in the cosmetology industry. Content provides student the opportunity to acquire skills in both theory and practical applications. Upon completion and acquisition of 1500 hours, students are eligible to take the Tennessee State Board of Cosmetology examination for a Tennessee Cosmetology License. A student not completing the required 1500 hours for licensing in high school may complete training at the Tennessee Technology Center-Knoxville.

Description:
These courses are the study of legal and protective service careers. The courses prepare students for work-related knowledge and skills for advancement into the legal and protective service careers. Course content focuses on areas comprised of planning, managing, and providing judicial, legal, and protective services. New technology and career opportunities in legal and protective service are an integral part of the course content. Based on the content of the course, the student will test for certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).

Description:
Prepares students to enter the many facets of the garment industry such as designer, pattern-maker, pattern-grader, sewing machine operator, presser, and production manager. All phases of tailoring are taught from the manufacture of ready-to-wear garments to those that are made-to-measure.
