GED Testing Center101 East Fifth Avenue Last Update 4/7/08 The GED Testing Center administers the General Educational Development (GED) Test for those individuals who have not graduated from high school, but need a high school equivalency diploma. The test is administered on a regularly scheduled basis and candidates must pre-register. GED preparation classes are available through the Adult Basic Education Program. Costs: Knox County Schools Adult Education Now Offering Free GED TestThe Knox County Schools Adult Education Program is offering the GED test free of charge to eligible adults. The testing fee is normally $55. The GED test is free if you earn a minimum score of 430 on each of the Official Practice Test subtests and an overall test average of 480. Adults ages 18 and over no longer need an official age waiver or withdrawal form from high school to be eligible to take the exam. (More Information). Normal costs: The fee for the GED is $55.00. Partial retests cost $11.00 for each section. No refunds are made for missed appointments. There is an $11 charge for rescheduling, if necessary.
