Curriculum-Based Measurement

Early Numeracy Norms

Early numeracy measures are also administered to students in kindergarten (oral counting in fall and winter; number identification in fall, winter, and spring) and first grade (number identification in fall; missing number in fall and winter).  Just as with early literacy, early numeracy measures are the building blocks of early mathematics skills.  We are again using such measures to quickly identify possible problems and then we are able to monitor growth.  The charts show the number of correct digits according to the criteria set by each particular measure. The growth rates for that particular skill at various percentiles are presented. Some growth rates for periods are not listed because that particular skill is not assessed at every assessment period (benchmark).
