The mission of the Curriculum and Instruction Department is to increase student achievement and learning through professional development, support services, and collaborative efforts involving parents and the community.

Educators, throughout the system accept the responsibility to provide an appropriate and enriched education for the diverse group of students enrolled in our schools.

A full educational program for our students depends in part on the educational opportunities made available to all of our students.  Instruction is at the heart of our mission statement that guides the work of educators throughout the system.

The Curriculum and Instruction department works collaboratively with principals, teachers, and others to design, implement, evaluate and refine exemplary educational programs.

The Curriculum and Instruction department is dedicated to the following:

  • Understanding teaching and learning through research
  • Developing leaders who focus on the “we” and not the “I”
  • Adding to our internal body of knowledge of teaching and learning
  • Incorporating “best practices.”
