Transportation Services  

The Board of Education contracts with private individuals to provide bus service to most schools. Approximately 66% of all pupils are eligible for transportation. Three hundred and seventy-five buses covering roughly 20,000 miles per day transport them. One hundred and forty-five minibuses furnish transportation service to 1,050 children in special education programs at 83 different sites. Parents should contact the transportation department or consult the Knox County Schools website to obtain more detailed information about bus schedules, routes, and stops.
