Home-School Communications
Progress reports (report cards) are sent
to parents via students at the end of each six weeks and at the
end of 4 1/2 weeks for high schools. Parent-teacher conferences are
encouraged and may be initiated by either parent or teacher. They
should be held by appointment whenever possible. Informal conferences
are acceptable under appropriate circumstances. Parents are encouraged
to become actively involved at all levels of the school program. Most
schools have active parent-teacher organizations, and several schools
have school-community advisory committees. Many parents
serve the schools as volunteer assistants.
