Facilities
Knox County operates 92 facilities, including 50 elementary
schools, 14 middle schools, 12 high schools, one adult school,
one vocational center, one technology center, two special educational
centers, two alternative learning schools, two family life resource
centers, two maintenance/ operation centers, five facilities
of support, ancillary services and offices. Since 1993 Knox County
has undertaken an aggressive building program, which addresses crowding,
fire-safety issues, compliance with Americans with Disabilities (ADA)
requirements, and a volunteer Equal Education Opportunity Plan. The
Superintendent and the Knox County Board of Education are committed
to providing a safe and adequate environment for the students of Knox
County.
