Sun Trust Bonus

Powell Middle School Principal Gary Critselous accepted a bonus check from SunTrust Bank for $1,615 from SunTrust representative Heric Ligdis. The SunTrust Bonus awarded schools $1 for each additional book that the school sold over last year's total.

Prizes

Students received rewards for being top sellers. Business partners contributed merchandise or funds for the rewards.

November 15, 2007 - Knox County Schools celebrated its 19th successful School Coupons Book Campaign Thursday with a luncheon for top-selling schools and students, corporate sponsors and school coupon coordinators.

Students sold 179,767 coupon books during the 2007 campaign. This represents a profit of $1,563,972.90.

Since 1989, a total of 2,428,502 coupon books have been sold to raise $20,817,337.40 for public schools in Knox County.

Top student sellers were Kaitlyn Doan (365), Hunter Lewis (238), and Briana Wilcox-Barnett (231). Kaitlyn, who was top seller in 2005 also, will appear on the cover of next year's coupon book. Carly Rucker, Christopher Muncey, and Francisca Rayho each sold over 200 books.

Kayla Dean was the top middle school seller.

Top performing schools were Carter High with a 214.7% increase, Powell High (59.48%), and Powell Middle (56.57%). A. L. Lotts had the highest per capita sales (10.41) and also sold the most books (11,352.

SunTrust Bank distributed $6,697.00 to 36 schools for each additional book they sold over last year's total. Powell Middle was best with 1,615 additional books this year over last year.

Scott Bacon, Director of Business Partnerships for Knox County Schools, congratulates the students, parents, business partners, and KCS staff for another successful School Coupons Book campaign. This year's campaign raised over $1.5 million for the schools.
