Rising ninth grade students enter world of work as part of Schooled for Success program

Schooled for SuccessRising ninth graders will spend Schooled For Success summer internships in area businesses Wednesday, May 28, and Thursday, May 29 . The students will be in businesses from approximately 9:30 - 3:00 both days.

Students will have the opportunity to explore various careers, accomplish appropriate employee tasks, be mentored by employees and employers, build a work record, and have a real work experience. The program introduces students to the world of work each year and is part of the Partners in Education program.

The internship culminates a year long program in which students complete a portfolio focusing on self-assessment, career exploration, career planning, pre-employment and employment skills development.

Students from all 14 Knox County middle schools will be interning with many of Knoxville's businesses, organizations and government agencies including:
