Rising ninth graders will spend Schooled For Success summer internships in area businesses Wednesday, May 28, and Thursday, May 29 . The students will be in businesses from approximately 9:30 - 3:00 both days.

Students will have the opportunity to explore various careers, accomplish appropriate employee tasks, be mentored by employees and employers, build a work record, and have a real work experience. The program introduces students to the world of work each year and is part of the Partners in Education program.

The internship culminates a year long program in which students complete a portfolio focusing on self-assessment, career exploration, career planning, pre-employment and employment skills development.

Students from all 14 Knox County middle schools will be interning with many of Knoxville's businesses, organizations and government agencies including:
