Community InvolvementKnox County Schools' employees are deeply involved in their local communities in many roles in addition to their roles as educators, support personnel and staff within the school system. The more than 7,000 KCS employees are good neighbors, friends, civic club members, church leaders, youth group leaders, and good citizens. They are mothers, fathers, son, daughters, grandmothers and grandfathers, uncles, aunts, sisters and brothers. Become involvedEducation is a team effort. Children, youth, young adults, and adults are always learning. Education doesn't begin with the morning bell and end with the afternoon dismissal, nor take the summer off. Education happens 24 hours a day, seven days a week, every day of the year. Parents and peers are a great or greater part of that education than the classroom teacher. We are all involved in teaching the individual whether we realize it or not.
